Chef Johnny Courtney is the chef and co-owner of Atoma in Seattle’s Wallingford neighborhood, operating out of a charming 100-year-old Craftsman home. Growing up in New Mexico, Johnny has honed his craft in acclaimed kitchens across Australia, Mexico, Denver, and Seattle. At Atoma, he brings together his love of food, hospitality, music and community in a space that feels like a refined dinner party, elevated yet unpretentious. His cooking draws on European technique and Pacific Northwest seasonality, blending precision with bold, playful creativity. Johnny and Atoma embrace fun, inventive flavors, lively energy, and music. The restaurant has earned significant recognition, including being named a 2025 James Beard Award finalist for Best New Restaurant and one of Eater, Robb Report and Esquire’s Best New Restaurants in 2025.
